America was and is an idea. It was a dream that a few men gathered in a room over 250 years ago to debate, agree, and disagree on the #foundation. In the end, they gave us a blueprint for a new nation. A blueprint that we have been building on ever since. These weren’t all fancy, well-educated men. Some were, but others weren’t. They were diverse, and they were #immigrants.
They left their comfort zones, families, jobs, and lifestyles to come here and start over. A blank slate for which they had to fight. When it was all signed, sealed, and delivered, we were given the gift of freedom. #Freedom to dream the big dream; to live our best lives, in a country that was founded on those exact goals.
Political fights aside, can we take some time today and be thankful for these radical immigrants who said yes to an idea – who signed their name on the bottom line to stand up for those who wanted something different for their legacy.
What’s your big dream? Is it worth the effort? Is it worth stepping out of your comfort zone? Please share it in the comments without reservation.
Happy Independence Day,
KK
